What is the Cheesman Park Art Fest?
This year marks the 11th annual art festival at Cheesman Park. It takes place on July 27th and 28th and runs from 9 am to 5 pm. It will feature over 150 artists and craftspeople showing their best work and selling pieces to guests. What helps set this festival apart from other art events is that it’s juried. This means pieces are judged and curated by the jury, so you’ll see the best artwork in Colorado.
The festival takes place on the south side of Cheesman Park, next to 8th Avenue. You can browse some of the pieces that will be on display at the festival online. This way, you can see what kind of artwork will be featured and decide whether you want to bring something home with you.
What to Expect at the Cheesman Park Art Fest
While art is the star of the show, there are plenty of other reasons to check out this event. First, live bands will be playing throughout each day, featuring folk music, jazz music, and covers of popular songs. You can hear the music as you browse the vendor stands, or you can sit back and watch the musicians play.
The festival also features some of Denver’s best food trucks. The event will have trucks serving all kinds of foods and treats. For example, Em’s Ice Cream Truck has some of the best ice cream you’ll find on a cone. Cirque Kitchen is a gourmet restaurant on wheels, allowing you to tickle your taste buds with high-end dishes.
Other food options include tacos, fried chicken, poke bowls, smoothies, bubble tea, and even nitrogen ice cream. For us, the best option is to get one or two dishes from each truck so you can sample a little bit of everything.
